What is IASIS Micro-Current Neurofeedback (MCN)?
IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback is an FDA approved, non-invasive technology that is painless and gives a gentle nudge to the central nervous system and allows the brain to heal itself and begin to self-regulate in a healthy way.
How many sessions are required before noticing a difference?
Most people will notice initial changes within three sessions, however in some cases it may take a few more. Once treatments are finished additional treatments are not usually required. In some cases, individuals may require an occasional “booster”. The number of treatments required varies for each individual as everyone is unique, making it impossible to determine a specific or fixed number of treatments.
How Long Are the Sessions?
The initial session will last approximately one hour and will encompass a comprehensive evaluation of your concerns, medical history, and goals you would like to achieve from the treatments. The remainder of the sessions will be approximately 30 minutes long. You will need to complete a 24-hour evaluation after each session to evaluate how you reacted to the treatment and ensure we are following the correct protocol for your next treatment.
Do I need to discontinue my medication to do IASIS Neurofeedback?
You do not need to stop or change your medication unless your medical provider advises you to do so. IASIS MCN will work just as well while you are taking your medications. Some people experience an extra sensitivity to their medications. Often after successful treatment, prescription drugs may be reduced or discontinued, always and only with physician/psychiatrist approval.
Who can benefit from IASIS?
Most people can benefit from IASIS MCN treatments. The benefits of IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback include helping to rebalance the brain, improving overall wellbeing and happiness, enhancing memory function, improving ability to regulate emotions, and increasing quality of life. IASIS MCN can be used to treat a variety of disorders including ADD, ADHD, anxiety, stress, PTSD, addiction, traumatic brain injury, insomnia, and an assortment of other issues.
How does IASIS Neurofeedback work?
IASIS MCN bathes the brain in energy which allows the autonomic nervous system to neuro-regulate. IASIS MCN produces a measurable change in brainwaves and the improved brainwaves motivate the brain and nervous system to be more capable of regulating itself. This treatment supports the brain to heal itself by creating new brain wave patterns and the entire process is painless and does not require active participation from the patient.
How is IASIS Neurofeedback different from Traditional Neurofeedback?
IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback produces results faster and with a smaller number of treatments than traditional neurofeedback. Traditional Neurofeedback may take 6 months or longer to achieve optimal results, where individuals often report that they have achieved and maintained sustainability in 10- 20 sessions with IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback.
How long has IASIS been around? Is it experimental?
IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback is FDA approved and is not experimental. Practitioners have used earlier and similar versions of IASIS MCN for over 15 years. IASIS is a more advanced form of traditional neurofeedback which was pioneered over 60 years ago.
Is IASIS made for home use?
No, IASIS MCN is only administered by trained clinicians and is not intended for home use.
What makes IASIS MCN unique?
IASIS MCN is unique because the participant does not have to do anything while having a treatment. The client can relax while the IASIS device does all the work to allow your brain to heal itself.
How frequently should I have sessions?
Most people start with 2-3 sessions per week and then as results last longer, sessions can be spaced further apart.
How much power is being used?
The level of electricity from the FDA Registered IASIS device is 1/100 of a AA battery over 1/100 of a second. It is extremely safe and pain free.
How many sessions will I need to have?
The number of sessions required cannot be pre-determined as it varies for each individual due to their unique circumstances and needs. Approximately 85% of people will experience some positive effect in 1-3 sessions. IASIS MCN builds on itself so for sustainable and effective change, most people will need 12-20 sessions and sometimes up to 40.
Is it safe?
IASIS MCN is extremely safe and utilizes an FDA-registered EEG amplifier. Treatments are safe and effective for adults, pregnant women, and babies and children of all ages.
What will my response be to the session?
It is possible to experience temporary reactivity of the nervous system in the 24 to 48 hours following a treatment. A patient may experience temporary symptoms such as fatigue, spaciness, anxiousness, wired, headache or the increase of a symptom. This is completely normal and will resolve over the next 24-48 hours. This is a sign that neuro-regulation is taking place and is a positive sign that your brain and nervous system are responding. Although it may cause temporary discomfort, it will not persist and will be followed by improvement. It is crucial to remember that reactivity is an indication of positive progress, and that every component of a reaction is a positive response.
What are the side effects of IASIS MCN?
This therapy is safe, and there are no serious side effects associated with it. Some patients may feel slightly fatigued and/or have a slight headache. It is also possible to feel overstimulated for approximately 24-48 hours after the treatment. These side effects are all temporary and will resolve on their own.
Can I use my FSA or HSA account to pay for IASIS MCN?
Yes, you can use your FSA or HSA card to pay for treatments and we will provide you with a detailed receipt.
Can IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback be used on animals?
Yes, treatments can be done on animals and it has shown to be especially effective for dogs and horses.
